On 26th April 1986, reactor 4 of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant exploded, releasing large amounts of highly radioactive material into the atmosphere. Ever since, the city of Pripyat has been completely deserted. Today, the empty city has become a tourist destination, with people from all over the word drawn to the eerie scenes of city’s deserted streets.
Scientists estimate that the zone around the plant will not be habitable for 20,000 years.
